Progress of AME REinsurance Ltd.greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread |
Dear Brothers and Sisters First my deepest sympathies to the family of our soldiering Presiding Elder from the 5th Episcopal District. May God Be with his Dear Wife and Family.I am writing you with an update on the Connectional Church Captive Insurance Program. Today I am both pleased and thankful to advise the members of our Church that the Board of Insurance Regulators have given the approval for the AME Reinsuance Company Ltd to be granted a Class 1 Insurance Certificate to operate the program of the Connectional Church. We ask your prayers as we now head into the last portion of the work. We are in negotiations with our corporate partners in this program and will be announcing soon the procedures of payment into the program.
May God Bless this historic work within his Church for the uplifting of his Kingdom. Please pray for both Senator the Honorable Rev. Dr. Leonard Santucci and myself as we continue to do the work that we hope will be pleasing in the sight of God.
God Bless You All

Please help me with some information. I am ignorant of most insurance terms. What is "Re-Insurance? Are the investment risks greater with re-insurance or "regular insurance"? How can I tell if I have regular or reinsurance? Blessings,Pastor Paris

Re-Insurance is a practice that companies use to distribute coverage among different Providers of Coverage. In the event of losses it will not have a devastating effect upon one carrier. Our going into the Insurance Business may be of benefit to a degree however, I do have some reservations asit relates to prompt claim handling. When we deal with local businesses within out communities there is a definite advantage.

A.M.E. Reinsurance
I too wondered what "reinsurnce" was so I did a fairly detailed story when this project first came to fruition. You can see the pre- approval stories, and pictures, at

Brother Brangman,I would appreciate it very much if you would explain how AME Re-insurance company differs from any other insurance company. In most insurance companies, the company makes money when people submit very few or no claims at all. The insurance companies are also the biggest investors in the stock markets and other investments. How does the AME Re-insurance company operate and what will it be insuring?

Dear Jazzman So sorry I have been busy and unable to answer your question. The exact details to answer I am preparing now as this will be produced for the Connectional Church. As soon as it is done I will be forwarding a copy to AME-Today and this board so that members can be aquainted. The re-engineering of our insurance program places the Church in a position to finally gain back some of the incredible profits made through this industry without placing the Church at major risk. Please bear with me as I am working on this for you and our members as we speak. Continue to pray for my associate and I as we move the Church into a new area of economic empowerment. We will have new funds to help grow the outreach of the gospel through our denomination. Our Denominational Brothers and Sisters are now asking our assistance in developing these programs for them as well. We will (of course) finish the work for the AME Church first before we move to other fields.God Bless You All
