Thank God for Pastor Alvin Smithgreenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread |
For the last year or so Saint James were the only church on the lips of the people of Saint Louis. But now there is a change in the air. It is happening in the midwest thanks to Bishop Richard John Bryant who made the necessary changes to allow the people of God to be fed diligently. We are so excited at Saint Paul who is on the way to reclaiming its proper place in the district. Rev Alvin Smith who has only been here a month has tripled the attendance and people are coming back to church. The offerring has increased and we are blessed with good singing and preaching. The other churches in the conference who were blessed with new leadership are shouting too but they can tell their own story. Saint Louis is back in God's business. Thank you Jesus. Hallelujah. Share with us what is happening at St. John and Wayman.

My dear Brother James,We praise God as well, my brother, at historic St. Paul AME Church, Tampa, where we too, were blessed on Sunday, December 2, 2001, to receive our new pastor. We too were the talk of the town, but thanks be to God our prayers have been answered. We thank Bishop John Hurst Adams for his insight. He heard the people crying out as they wandered around in the wilderness and he saw that the people "had a mind to work".
We have much to do, and we are entrusting it all to the guidance of the Holy Spirit - we shall overcome. PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!!!!! Hallelujah!!
