Good Morning! It's a dreary, foggy day here in Maryland. We have painted Amelia's room. It is yellow. "Glittering Sun" to be exact. We took up the stained carpet (former owners had pets with an obvious bladder problem) and guess what we found? BEAUTIFUL hard wood floors! I was so thrilled! As soon as we are done with her room we will begin the new bathroom. The tub is being delivered today. Brother-in-law is coming to rewire 3 outlets this Saturday. There are so many things that need to be done! Hubby will be building the barn on Christmas vacation. How am I going to get ready for Chrismas? Sitting here at this computer isn't helping, but just had to check in to see what is going on with "Families". Have a good day!

Hi Jo- and everyone else! Its dreary and foggy here in Central Ky too. Nobody wanted to get up and go off to school/work. I almost,not quite, feel guily about being at home-but I think if I stir up with some homemade baked goods for my crew this afternoon everyone will be happy.

Congradulations on your hard wood floors-Jo, what a great discovery. I have them on the mainfloor and I love them! Glittering Sun sounds great! I painted the whole house summer 2000 and because the job was so big and I was in a hurry-we were wanting to move in, and we were on a frayed shoestring budget, I painted EVERYTHING "candlelight"- a nice soft off-white. Mostly I really like it, but I see now that I should have painted the wall going to the kids room a fingerprint grey. Im beginning to think of different colors for different rooms, but I don't know If I can get myself geared up for that-what a job! On dreary days like today, I'm so glad to have light hardwood floors, white walls and lots of windows. My in-laws have dark oak floors, grey-blue walls and few windows-it feels like a cave to me-but they think this house is too "exposed"! To each thier own, I suppose.

Well, we have our first winter storm here in Oklahoma today. It started late yesterday afternoon, and actually closed a lot of schools in the southern part of the state. Unusual, it usually hits the Northern parts around here, but I heard that the Southwestern corner (next to the Texas Panhandle, of all places) has been hit pretty hard. We are right in the center of the state, and have about 1-2" of snow here, some ice on the roads, and it is still falling.

I am not having a good week so far; yesterday afternoon I backed into my nephew's pickup truck. Don't ask me why he parked right behind me, he NEVER does that. I put it in reverse, started backing up, and looked over my shoulder to slam on the brakes at the exact same time I hit him. I drive a suburban, it had absolutely no damage, but put a dent in his door down low and bent it out slightly at the top, so the wind whistles in around it now. Joy. What a way to start the Christmas season, right? Oh, well, I'll survive, but I don't suppose my husband will ever let me forget this one!

Like Jo, sitting here at this computer isn't helping, but I too had to check in and see what is going on around here today. I won't be opening any e-mails with attachments or anything else for a while, either. My Norton subscription expired a couple of months ago, I guess I had better hunt out that number and re-subscribe so I can update my definitions. My 'puter is less than a year old still, and I sure don't want to have to wait on a tech the way the weather is predicted around here for the next few days!

Just came from watering the animals. It is freezing!!! I do not understand how it can go from 70's and a couple days later be 24!!!! I can't seem to get warm and wish I had my old woodstove I had to leave behind when I moved!I love the smell of burning wood. Christmas is coming fast!I thought I was ready but I can see I have a lot to do!!God Bless-

It's a cold morning here also we have a bit of snow on the ground, that arrived during the night with freezing rain forecast for this afternoon! But new litter of bunnies are quite warm and toasty in their nest, life goes on! Will help the doe out tonight and bring the kits in for the night, to keep them warm.
