Did you get out of bed early Sunday and watch the meteor showers? or did you stay in bed?????!!!!!!Here in Ohio we had a spectacular view, we saw hundreds of meteors during the period from about 4:15 til 5:30. Some were small and fast, others very bright and slow, leaving long trails behind them and lighting up the sky!!! It was COLD, when we came in Cale built a fire, and we all went back to bed for a bit, then cooked up a big breakfast of fresh eggs, thick sliced bacon, wheat toast, apple juice, orange slices, and cinnamon rolls.
Wow! What an awesome sight, the heavens declare the handiwork of God once again!!!!!!!!!

I was awake at 4:30, but I didn't get out of bed. It was opening day of deer hunting here in Wisconsin and our neighbors park their trucks in our driveway. Why don't farm trucks have mufflers anyway? The men walk back to the deer stand from here. Anyway, I stayed in bed as it was cold.

I got up and went out and we were totally fogged in. I was so disappointed!!! :>(

We were so disappointed - it was cloudy here! :-( We had to resign ourselves to watching videos of it on the news the next day.

I forgot all about seeing the celestial glories because in my world (hee hee) there is a complete and utter vaccuum of time and space from midnight til 7 a.m. I am not a morning person, as you can see!

Did they fly by South America? I didn't hear any news of it here (but I only get an email news summary in Portuguese).

We saw some, it was foggy here, but we enjoyed what we could see.

It was foggy here in IL. We were disappointed, but we had seen the glorious northen lights display recently so we can't complain.

It was so foggy here we couldn't even see traffic lights 200 feet away. Oh, well... I guess I'll just wait another eleven years and look for it then. ;o)

It seems I live in the wrong area of Ohio. The fog was the pea soup variety for a couple of nights in a row. We so wanted to see the Leonids, as Kyle is studying Earth Science this year and getting to see this would have been so cool.

My son and I got up at 3am, loaded up the truck, which doesn't have heat by the way, and drove out into the far pasture.Camped out until about 4am and it started raining. We were so disappointed! So we came inside and I made cocoa and cinnamon rolls and soon the whole house was up.It will more then likely be the only time in my life I can say I had my morning chores and laundry done before 6am!!-

stayed up til 3am to watch them here on the west coast, peak time was around 2am. I usually stay up pretty late anyway and sleep 4-5 hrs a night. The coastal fog blocked out the sky from about 30 degrees to the horizon. I still managed to see quite a few meteorites though.

I rolled over and the clock said " it's 4:30 am - look outside dummy), so I went out in my robe for a peek. I shot right back in again, to dress for cold dawn temps. We could see many dozens here in Maryland. They seemed to be 2 or 3 every 10 minutes ( a couple within 5 minutes).

Up at 1:45 am, pulled on double layers of everything, grabbed a wool blanket and layed out on the patio and watched the greatest show on earth, produced by our All Mighty God!! Awesome here in Arizona!! Sissy

Sick with flu. Slept peacefully after spending the day as a blob with a runny nose.

Yep! I was up at 3:45am and ran outside to see. Was told by the weather channel that it was going to be cloudy but it was so clear and bright out. I wasn't disappointed. So in between getting my hunters ready, I was running in and out. Finally they left and I sat outside until 5:30 by myself looking up when all of a sudden something jumped in my lap! Cheetah, our cat! I'm sure the whole neighborhood heard me scream. Well, that was enough for me.I agree Melissa, God's handiwork is awesome!

I got up to check at 4:00 a.m. but it was still too foggy. I even got up again at 5:00 in hopes that we could see something but to no avail. We were all disappointed!

When we went to bed around 10:30 it was completely overcast but when I woke up at 4:30 a.m. it was spectacular. We live far away from any light sources so we were seeing so many a minute it was hard to keep up! Even my dog Gabriel noticed them and sat for the longest time gazing skyward. Isn't God incredible!
-- Janice in Maine (kenjan@nh.adelphia.net), November 20, 2001.
We got up at 3:30 My husband and I zipped up two mummy sleeping bags and went outside-it was spectacular! We live far away from civilization, so we could just go out in the frount yard. It was clear and not cold-low 40s We got the kids up too-all four of us wedged into two sleeping bags! It was great fun. Kids loved it. We went back to bed for a couple of hours then got up and made a huge pancake breakfast. We missed the Northern Lights- I'm glad we saw this! The meteors were streaking constantly across the sky-It was gorgous.
