Sausage ball recipe anyone?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
My son needs to make sausage balls for his food item for his state report on MISSOURI! Has to use a product from his assigned state - so we thought of hogs and sausage. Anyone have a yummy recipe for sausage balls. Need to take to school Weds. thanks.

Hi Daisy, here's the recipe I always use....1 lb. sausage
8 oz shredded sharp cheese
3 cups bisquick
Mix thouroughly ( I always use my hands). Make into small size balls. Bake at 325 degrees for 35 minutes. These can be frozen and used as needed. Do not thaw prior to baking.
I always use hot sausage, but for the kids at school, the regular would probably be best! Yum, I haven't made any for awhile, and now you got me craving them! Enjoy!

Sausage Balls III
Here is a version of sausage ball that calls for
processed cheese sauce instead of shredded cheese, for easier
handling. It's a quick and easy recipe for unexpected
gatherings. Prep Time: approx. 10 Minutes. Cook Time: approx. 15
Minutes. Ready in: approx. 25 Minutes. Makes 10 to 12 balls (6
servings).
FromAllrecipes
1/2 pound fresh, ground pork sausage
1/2 pound fresh, ground spicy
pork sausage3 ounces processed cheese sauce
2 cups buttermilk biscuit
dry mix
Directions
1 Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2 In a medium-sized bowl, combine regular sausage with
spicy sausage, cheese and biscuit mix. Mix well and form
into small balls, about 1 to 1 1/2 inches diameter. Place
on a cookie sheet. Bake until fully cooked, about 15 minutes.
