Large antique cider press for salegreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
I have had a very large antique cider press sitting in the garage for several years. I am now restoring a 1958 Willys Station Wagon and need the room. I have never used the press. All oak and cast iron. Two back legs are 6" x 6" oak that once had a red stripe on the edges. Front legs are smaller, maybe 3" x 3". Very large wheel on the side to turn and grind the apples. Large wheel on top to turn to press the apples, and has a carved oak "post" to assist in turning the top wheel. Two slatted buckets on the bottom in a slide so you can grind into one while crushing into the other. Bottom tray shows wear and probably needs to be replace. Everything turns smoothly. No rust, no rot. Probably weighs around 300-400 pounds. Measurements are approx. 3' wide, 4.5' long and 4.5' tall. Photos available. Located in south-central Indiana.

Jim, Are you in Shelby County? I am in Franklin. I have always wanted an old cider press, even though I dont have the time or space for one. What are you asking for it, if you don't mind me being nosey?

We have several apple trees and need a cider press. In the past we've driven to Martinsville to borrow one but it may not be available much longer. I've emailed you directly. We are intested. Assuming you're in Shelby County, we're not as close to you as Franklin but only about 2 hours away. We need a price.
