Saw my first geese today. (Deep in the heart of Texas). Its the landings and takeoffs that you have to worry about. Still no ducks.

This is the warmest, driest Fall I remember. Deer come up to the house and ask for a drink of water. Trees are taking longer to start turning and keeping their leaves longer.

Have noticed that the first wildflower to bloom as well as the last wildflower to bloom is purple. The first is a wild verbeana. The last may be a member of the verbeana family. Think I'm fixing to go into color withdrawal.

We're having such nice weather (60's & 70's) here in Northern Iowa that the Canada geese are staying around longer. The pasture this morning is full of them.
