This came up on another forum, and I was informed that this refrain was from an old song, something about "Going down to Santa Fe town to see the big fiesta" and with the refrain of "Perk-a-deedle-di-dle-um-tweet-tweet".

Has anyone ever heard of this song, know the name, or where additional lyrics might be found?

ROTFL! Jules told me about that Dee! That Perk-a-deedle-di-dle-um- tweet-tweet was something my dad came up with when I was ten and named my new pet parakeet "Perky" (what can I say, I was TEN!). I guess he only remembered that line. We've always wondered what the rest of it was!
