Americans are showing their patriotism in some unusual ways. Tuesday at the Taste of Texas restaurant, customers bought a unique take out order: a message for bin Laden.

The steaks were on the grill in the 10500 Block of the Katy Freeway, but the restaurant renowned for its red meat decided to dish out something different.

They were selling a song called "Bend Over, bin Laden" on CD. They sold it for ten bucks a copy. The restaurant promoted it over the radio and hoped to sell enough of the CD's to buy a bomb.

Edd Hendee, restaurateur and talk show host says, "It is the bomb used by the Navy and the Air Force in their attacks on the Taliban positions. And we're gonna go to Congress and present a check, $20,000, made out to the U.S. Treasury. And that is the amount that will purchase one bomb."

By word of mouth, the CD and its mission spread fast. People lined up to buy copies autographed by the conservative talk show hosts.

CD buyer, Linda Klinger says, "This is kinda like buying a war bond. They're not selling them right now, but that's kinda what I think it is."

It has quickly become a collector's item.

Hendee says, "We have sold over 2000 'Bend Over, bin Laden' CDs. We have raised over $20,000 to buy a bomb. And we are all sold out of the CDs."

So even if their bomb misses its target, their song scored a direct hit.

One of the talk show hosts says he telephoned Boeing to find out how much one of those bombs costs. He says they eventually told him it cost 20,000 bucks. It must have been an interesting conversation.

Wonder if I could buy one too?

I'm seriously thinking about trying to have a little message written on one.

Apoc: I think you've hit on a winner. I know a lot of people that would pay to have their own "two cents" written on a 2000 pound bomb that might fall on bin Laden. hehehe

$20,000 bucks for one bomb? Man oh man am I in the wrong business. They are dropping those bombs now by the 1,000s and those are just the dumb bombs, not the smart ones. I hear the smart stuff, like the cruise missles, cost more than 1 million each. I sure do hope the munitions makers are selling these at cost to us, since it's a justified war we are engaging in.
