(CNN) - Several Taliban leaders are believed to have been killed Sunday night during the first night of bombing raids over Afghanistan, a U.S. official told CNN Wednesday.
U.S. officials believe that among the leaders killed were "two adult male" relatives of Taliban leader Mullah Mohammad Omar, said the official who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
The official said the United States had received "highly credible" reports that the raids killed the Taliban leaders and the relatives of Mullah Omar.
