Lets see, you mean routine vaccs? We give CD&T 2x's a yr, but I read somewhere recently that it should be every 3 months. We give Bo-Se or in our case, MU-SE to the bucks before breeding season and to the does before kidding. We give Immuno-G as well during kidding season but thats to the kids and orally. Guess thats it unless i have had a sr moment and forgotten something.

Is there any respitory vacc's for goat?

Many use the following for respiratory. i prefer to use neuflour for pnemonia. There is naxel, tylan, LA 200, hmmmmm I think thats it, and sulpher antibiotics for the "snots" which is pasturella.

Quick question. Can you get hepatitis from getting stabbed by a needle after it was used on a goat? Yes, I got stabbed giving Ivermectin. I asked the vet if I should be worried about anything and he said just the same as getting stabbed by a dirty needle, not to worry about the Ivermectin. I had a tetnis shot 6 years ago.

I suppose anything is possible but i have never heard of it. And i ahve been pricked a few times. I worry more about contracting it with my work that with my goats.

Like Bernice and Jenny, I give CD&T twice a year. In my area of Maine, BOSE is not needed.

Were could the goat have gotten hepatitis to give it to you? Or are you just talking dirty needle, so liver infection for you? I have been stuck many times, oddly mostly when I am trying to show somebody how to do something :) though I do get Tetanus shots every 5 years. Just something my Mom did, and I also do, course I work with stock daily.

I have used Bar Vac CD&T for years. We used to use Covexin 8, though now we only recommend it if you have black leg in your cattle in your area. Also if you have had a case of malignant edema (and believe me you wouldn't have to be guessing, go to saanendoah.com and read up on this horrid mastitis). We vaccinate the babies at 3, 6, 9 weeks now. From that point forward does are vaccinated before they are bred, and right before they are kidding. Bucks are vaccinated before breeding season, and when their first kid hits the ground.

We do not vaccinate for pnemonia, though I have used the vaccine for shipping fever before. If I was thinking about sending a goat of mine on a long haul, especially on the hauls done by others that mean a week stay for your goat amongst other goats and in deeply bedded trailers, I would not only vaccinate but I know several folks who have had great sucess with the in the nose vaccines.

There is also a vaccine, Lysign for staph mastitis. This is given like CD&T shots, right before kidding and 21 days later, if you have chronic mastitis problems in your herd, or invironmental staph on udders (the blister, white head stuff folks call goat pox) than this is a great way to get it cleaned up by boosting the girls immunity.
