No, this has been discussed on the forum last spring/ last year. It requires very specialized equipment. Look through the archives, sorry don't have a clue where it is filed as the category is always hidden from the viewer on original posts.

I hope I don't spoil your breakfast, but some recent laboratory testing has shown that grains puffed commercially for cereal have toxic properties. Laboratory animals being fed a diet of puffed grains suffered terrible health consequences. Those fed exclusively on puffed grains died rapidlly. The temperatures required to produce commercial puffed grain cereal render the grain mildly toxic to the system and can contribute to health problem is consumed regularily or long term. I first received this info from a nutritionist friend of mine. Best I can tell it is credible info. I won't even give table scraps of puffed cereal to my chickens! Convenient, YES - Healthy, NO.

if you buy the kind in the bags, generic, they are less than a dollar a bag. the sugared kind are lots more expensive
