Sorghum syrup is result of boiling down the juice squeezed from sorghum plant. Simular operation to boiling sap of sugar maple to make maple syrup.

Molasses is a byproduct of making sugar from sugar cane.

Unfortunately these terms are now used interchangebly. No matter I guess as what is sold as sorghum is dark foul tasting stuff anymore. Just cant find the light colored sorghum I remember from childhood with delicate taste that rivals traditional maple syrup. Heck, I've even bought maple syrup that doesnt taste like maple syrup anymore although it is priced like maple syrup. Nobody cares about quality and if they do they want to charge the moon for it so only yuppies can buy it.
