I don't know to much about house plants. There are two types in this pot and the dark green one I can't seem to find the name of it. As I walked by a garbage can I just pinched about an inch from the top of a plant someone tossed and stuck it in the pot. Its about 2 years old Anyone know what it is?......Kirkhttp://www.geocities.com/PicketFence/Garden/8784/plant2.jpg

You've got two plants growing in there, Kirk. They're both succulents. The greyish-greenish-whitish one with the more rounded leaves looks like a burro's tail (sedum morganianum). The other, though definitely a succulent, I'm not sure about. It might be some variety of echevaria, which family includes the well-known "Hen & Chicks" (Echeveria secunda var. glauca). I had to get the latin names with a computer search. I used Google, and the phrase 'houseplants succulents'.Anyway, the two plants have similar cultivation requirements, so they should be fine together. It looks to me like they need more light -- pretty leggy. If you have a southern exposure window, that's probably where they should be. Just move them GRADUALLY to more light. They can sunburn.
You probably already know this, but they don't need fertilizing, only occasional watering (let dry out, then water thoroughly, but DO NOT let them 'stand' in water), and a sandy, gravelly, well draining soil. Cactus mix would work for them, if you don't want to mix your own.
Here is an article about succulents: http://www.msue.msu.edu/msue/imp/mod03/03900089.html
I bought a Hen and Chicks plant once, to try to establish outside in the rock wall (some varieties are hardy even in Wisconsin winter). The darn thing wasn't a hen, it was a rooster! It promptly stuck up a tall, fleshy column, then withered and died, leaving no chicks! Okay, sorry, just a little "farm" humor . .. . .

Thank you Joy!! I knew about the Burro's tail but not about the other one. I been watering and feeding way to much! Seems really cruel not to feed it. Ha! Thanks for the tips and the article.Trennie: I named it Chaos cuz it grows all over the place!!! Its growing little baby flowers right now. I always tell it how beautiful it is even tho for all I know it could be a weed!!!...Kirk
