If this question has been posted before, then please excuse the redundancy...but what do you all think we should do? Rebuild the WTC similar to what was there before, build something totally different or put up a memorial like they did after the Oklahoma City bombing??

What we should do and what we will do may be two different things. That much office space in Manhatton is just too valuable to not use. I would guess that a huge office complex with a built-in memorial is pretty much a foregone conclusion.

On the other issue, I doubt that Bin Laden will be taken alive unless he's convinced of his own innocence AND assured of an international trial!

An O.K.C. memorial type would work for me. We all have to remember that evil does lurk out there, and this building site is as good as any to remind us.

What to do with Bin Laden? When or if he is found guilty, stick him in a strait jacket, put him in a padded cell, put the cell in a space ship, and aim it in a collision course with the sun. And just before take off, let him know his destination. As hot as it will get, it will get much warmer later on.

I'm sorry, it sounds mean as hell, I know, but the person or people responsible for this should pay extraoridinary costs.

I think, myself, I'm leaning toward rebuilding it as close as possible to what was there before...with MAJOR reinforcements, tho'! As I understand it, it wasn't the collisions of the planes that made them collapse, it was the intense heat which literally melted the framework. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that :-)!

But when I think about exactly why they targeted the WTC, it was because they stood as a symbol of America's prosperity and freedom. Wouldn't it be appropriate to put them back as they were with a really nice memorial at the tops of the new towers? Or maybe a memorial floor dedicated to those who died? It would be kinda a slap in the face for the terrorists!!

As for Bin Laden, IF they catch him I think he should be put away somewhere in TOTAL solitary confinement FOREVER with only his religious symbols to keep him company.And I mean NO contact with anyone except for whoever feeds him!! If we execute him that's just making a martyr out of him, since death means nothing to him anyways...whether it's his death or innocent people!!

This afternoon, as I sit here writing this, my 4 yr. old granddaughter is taking a nap on my sofa. Watching her sleep, I think of all the innocent kids like her that this jerk would have no feelings whatsoever about killing. Really fires me up about doing something...don't know what, but just something!!!

I heard a bunch of interview from people in New York and most that worked in or near the towers would not be willing to work in such high profile buildings again. That perhaps will have to be a consideration in the long run.

I don't think they should rebuild them so tall. All around this country, there is sort of a competition to see who has the tallest. If it's not the tallest in the world, then in the country. If not the tallest in the country, then in the state. And so on. Better if they weren't such "hey look at me" targets . . . I think.

Well, this is totally unworthy of me, but on the subject of bin Laden: IF he is the guilty party (hasn't been proven, ya know), how about sentencing him to work in a hog factory. Maybe without the gas mask or a leaky one anyway. Of course, I'd rather the hog factories were banned altogether, but if they won't do that, it seems an appropriate place to send him . . . Then I realize, that's probably torture, considering his beliefs (don't Muslims consider pigs/pork "unclean"?). How about maximum security, solitary confinement for the rest of his life?
