Hi yall, its me again. How many days after worming do you have to wait to drink the milk. DH and I cant agree and cant remember. Kinda pitiful when both brains wont work. Thanks for your help Blessings Peggy

Peggy, It depends on what kind of dewormer. I can remember people and places years ago but yesterday is gone. lol

The only one that I know tests on for sure is Valbazen, at 8cc per 100 pounds it is 36 hours. Ivermectin has nearly a month, Safeguard, Cydectin, etc. all tout no milk withdrawls but that only would be if you were giving it at the recommended dosages and giving them the route on the label, which isn't how we do things. Visit saanendoah.com and read Joyce's information on this, also remember really good milkers quickly get milk residues out of their systems while poor milkers are more sluggish about it. Vicki

Ivermectin has a month withdrawl written on the label, but ivermectin is a drug that is commonly used to worm people as well as livestock. My vet recommends a 3 day milk withdrawl for ivermectin.
