Well HOWDY! Lil Dumplin and the old hillbilly are back home again. Jest had to go have a "look see" at a steam engine way down in Tenn. No, she didn't let me bring it home. Said her little s10 wouldn't hold it!

Cool weather and the hint of colder temps in store for us shortly. I'm ready for some cooler weather after this hot summer.

It appears that I may have something to relay on in a day or so. It's a "feeling" I have in my being that I can't explain. A hint: Prepare your food pantry and everything else you need--ASAP! Self sufficiency quickly.

Check your furnaces and heaters now, if you haven't already done so. Check the batteries on those smoke/fire and CO alarms. Check on old folks and their alarms too. Jesus is coming soon but we don't want any old folks burn'n up while waiting for His call.

We were planning to go to the VA state fair so I could find out in our local area who deals in the miniature goats, but yesterday I got a feelin that maybe we shouldn't be going and hubby was shocked because I reeeeaaallllllyy wanted to go. So you aren't alone Hoot, I just don't know at this point what is going to happen. I will keep prayin on it.

I, too, am glad to hear that you are back. I was beginning to worry that something was wrong. Glad to hear that only thing wrong was the S10 was too small!! :)

I was rather suprised by your 'hint'. I have been feeling a little cautious the last few days. I read the Wilkerson letter also, but, it seems to be more than that. I know that the Lord has allowed us the funds to stock a well pantry. And I know, that I know, that it isn't all for us. I know that He will be putting others in our path who need to be feed; food and Word!

At the threat of being called a "doomsday prophet" I submit the following "feelings" I've been havin for a few weeks. When they first started I posted about it a little but didn't elaborate much on it for fear I was wrong. Alas! How time changes things!! I can actually SEE changes coming now where a couple months ago I couldn't!

I would also like to say that I don't know it all and don't pretend to. I'm not a prophet of Almighty God but I do belong to Him! I DO know the ONE who does! Perilous times are upon us now and it will only get worse as time passes.

As each day comes it seems there is more of these "feelings" that kinda hang on in my old brain. I still don't know all I'd llike to know but most of the times I don't when these things stop off. As some have already mentioned-we need to prepare for other folks as best we can-- besides ourselves. A time of fierce trouble is almost upon us. The coming winter will hold problems we haven't seen in a lifetime. Food shortages will be rampant, money will be short and the weather will be more fierce than in the last 50 years or so. Besides groceries [canned goods, dry goods ] we also need to prepare with all the necessities of life that we can afford. Clothing, some ammo., auxilary heat source if you're presently using gas or electric. Be as self sufficient as you can. Store water--bunches of it! Buy a RO system if at all possible. If not---a "still" will work too.

You can use your own thinkin as to what you need for your family or others that might come your way. I'm not predicting anything--have no aspirations of leading anybody anywhere but am still obligated to share what I "feel" with all that care to read. Still some time left to acquire more of what we need but we need to be moving along with it and get'n ready. America will be in war shortly, the economy will crash, gasoline and oil based products will become more expensive and scarce.

I'm not worred tho---I KNOW who holds the future! All Christians need not worry. He tells us He will take care of His own.

The main thing to remember I think, is to not panic. I'm not fix'n to "mmorgage the farm" just to buy some extra grub nor am I about to start wearing "sackcloth and ashes", light with kerosene etc etc. Nother words--don't go off the deep end preparing. Hoot, thank you for the advice. I too am feeling that we need to be prepared. Our home loan has just been approved, and I am already thinking fall gardens and stocking up. I feel this is going to be a cold winter, in addition to all the other things going on. I am hard at work crocheting and sewing warm stuff for my family for winter. I just finished a nice thick sweater for my little girl. Joe and I are looking around for a wood stove to install in our house as soon as we can. Gas and propane are probably going to go up in price rapidly as it gets colder. Everyone pay attention to your wood pile. Here in Oklahoma Ice storms from last year have cause a lot of dead fall. There are many farmers who would probably trade the wood for the labor to clear it. Rice and beans are a good choice for wintertime storage if you haven't got much in the way of food resources. I read somewhere, maybe here, that FEMA is calling for people to store extra food. If FEMA is calling for it, then they must have a GOOD reason. They certainly weren't for Y2K. Pay attention folks! Keep a pot of stew, or beans simmering on your woodstove or next to your fireplace. This makes for quick hardy meals and keeps the house warm too. Soups are also incredibly nourishing, because you eat the cooking water. A good idea is for everyone to go plant a small crop of kale. Kale is a very nourishing vegitable and it is good for soups. It also grows throughout even the coldest weather. Another idea is an outdoor fire pit. Build a nice one now with a few bricks. This won't heat your house, but it is a good way to conserve gas or propane. It is also good for jerking meat from fall hunting. Another tip is to learn to hunt and COOK the lesser hunted animals. The bigger stuff will go fast in a crisis, but the smaller stuff will be around a lot longer. Also learn to use meat for a seasoning, instead of a maincourse. A pregnant sow will go a long way in the meat department. Try to find one for sale now. Please remember to pay speacial attention to your chicken flock. Meat on the hoof, or foot as the case may be, takes up no room in the freezer. But meat in the freezer eats no grain or hay. Keep these two principles in mind and maximize them.

AMEN brother Hoot!! Been havin this feelin since back before Sept. 11th. Me and baby have both been havin that feeling to stock up. We're really blessed in that we have a wood heater and PLENTY of wood to burn. Plenty of good water to drink from the creek in the back yard, and a fine water filter to knock the critters out of it! :) Was talkin to my folks back on Saturday, and they have been gettin the same feelings. Daddy is a spirit filled Southern Baptist preacher, and when he told me that, I knew it was confirmation for me.

There's a good feeling in sharing our blessings with others in times of need, an even bigger one in sharing HIS love!!

Whew! Well I wanted more confirmation and I got it! I've even had a couple of GI's come into the office and suggested very strongly that I stock up.

So, thanks for being honest guys n' gals. Hubby used to think I was nutts to think about stockin up but after the 11th, he encourages me.

Funny, God provides in strange ways...in the past couple of months I've had donated to me 5 blankets, 15 or so sheets, 4 winter coats. I'm wonderin just who all this stuff is for.
