Did all the elevator men make it out of the WTC safely? And how many were assigned to the WTC?

My understanding is that there were about 20 elevator men at WTC normally.

ACE Elevator

We have received a confirmed report from ACE Elevator that all ACE Elevator employees are accounted for and safe. ACE Elevator Co. was providing elevator maintenance for the WTC. They were in the middle of a modernization and had been working out of an office located on the 35th floor in the South Tower.

Elevator Worlds Elenet dated 9/14 had polled all companys in NY Amazingly (Thank God) not one person in the trade was injured or killed.

On September 11, 2001, Brother Costello rushed into the Trade Center after the first plane hit, in order to rescue passengers that may have been trapped in the elevators. Chuck is as much of a hero as the fire fighters and police. There is no greater love than to lay down one's life for another. Brother Costello will be sorely missed, but never forgotten. Our heartfelt prayers go out to the victims and the families of this cowardly attack on the people of the United States of America. It will only make us stronger!

The union brother that died in the WTC worked for my company , ThyssenKrupp , formerly Dover . As we were told , he was passing by when it all happened , the helper was driving , he jumped out of the truck and ran in to help some guys he knew there , and was killed. To all of us at local 32 I am sure he is a hero. To me he is. If we have the wrong story, then it is my fault and I apologize , but it's what we were told at our safety meeting. I would probably have done the same thing. Work safe, all. God bless our great country.
