I'm interested in buying or building a St Lawrence River Skiff or Adirondak Guideboat. I've seen the Guideboat kit from Newfound woodworks and it looks awesome. Does anyone know of an SLRS kit around? I realy like the Kieth Quarrier design of the SLRS, but like alot of us, I dont have that kind of cash to shell out right now.

Try Upperdeck Boatshop (www.upperdeckboats.com). They offer a modified SLRS very similar in design to Keith Quarrier's. It's made from cedar strip with okume decks and is available in either kit or finished. You can contact the owner, Andy Wolfe, at info@upperdeckboats.com or (540)-464-5018). I have one which I bought finished and would be glad to answer any questions you have about it. Feel free to e-mail me directly.
