OK. I know that I have said it at least twice before: Everytime that I think that this place can't get any wackier, it does. But, honestly, truly, I had actually convinced myself that there was nothing further that was going to get said that I had not seen before.

I mean, it had all gotten to be so routine. The memes, the profanity, the delusion, the memes, the New World Order, the satire of Paula Gordon, the memes, gold conspiracies, writeln loops, the ridicule of Gary North, Sister Catherine, Loon, the memes, etc., etc., etc. But this is unbelievable. This goes beyond anything that I could have imagined, even about cpr.

In order to fulfill his destiny to fight the Y2K computer bug "merchants of doom", cpr dropped out. He gave up an income of $100,000 a year to do this. He completely wasted his time "de-bunking" an issue that very, very few people cared about (i.e., those that foolishly didn't simply trust that the problem was in good, capable hands to solve). Yet he laughs at those "doomers" who spent a fraction of what he gave up, taking out their Y2K bug "insurance" (Flint's analogy).

OK, cpr. It is August 27, 2001 A.D. You have had a full year and nearly eight months to feel the sting of your stupidity. Any words of wisdom to share with the group? (My hankie is ready....)

Well I must apologize. I did not realize that Tiny Knutsack didn't have a brain, not even a lame one. I'll 'splain S-L-O-W-L-Y this time....

If a person can live on 30K a year but makes 60K doing normal work, said person would have no need to work overtime to earn 75K a year. The difference between 60K and 75K is 15K (because Tiny Knutsack has no brain, I am calculating for it) and would be considered potential income. [If Tiny Knutsack still doesn't understand this concept, it is more than likely due to its dependence on its monthly government check (handout if you prefer)].

There is a simple reason I refer to you as "it", Tiny Knutsack. You are interchangeable with any number of doomers who's words could be cut and pasted to each other, regardless of handle. You cannot think for yourself, just like your fellow doomers. For some reason this has bothered you greatly....so badly in fact, that you now must try and convince yourself that you are superior to the de-bunker crowd. You make me LOL..."dood". Forum shuts down for a day and your first response is to this thread.....heh.

This was, is, and always will be the so-called "Reuben Delusion" that Ken Decker has waxed so eloquently.

To summarize: cpr has done a very stupid thing, at least as stupid as the most deluded "doomer" could ever have done!

I'm constantly amazed at the "anal" references by some. If one isn't full of shit, or asked to eat shit and die, one is accused of having gas that removes hair. Most folks got over the "anal" stage at a VERY early age, but every time I come here I hear the equivalent of "You poopy head. You poopy breath." This is a stage some children go through when they're 2 or 3 years old, and SOME children extend this phase to maybe 3rd grade. It's NOT commonly found in adults who have satisfying lives.

I'm doing quite well, thank you. I've actually gone MANY years without health insurance and never suffered. It's something a lot of self-employed folks do.

I don't know that my career potential is as bleak as you make it sound. I'm not real crazy about resuming the career I once had, but I have time to make choices, and enough money to support me through that decision period.

You're reading between the lines here. It wasn't as though I couldn't "afford" to get that bone fixed. It was because I KNEW which bone was broken and knew what to do about it that led to the bone healing on its own. Had I thought myself to be in any danger of a "deranged foot", I, certainly, would have sought out the expertise of a doctor.

You're somewhat correct in the school job, however. Every time I turned around, UTA added more courses to the curriculum on that one. For a job that ultimately only brings in $34,000 [max] a year, I decided that I'd be best served by waiting [or even pursuing another career path.] I also dealt with my mom moving to a new facility, and she hasn't even settled in there yet to our mutual comfort level. Sometimes, it's more important to deal with family issues [especially if the income is no big deal at the present] and pursue new career goals once that is complete.

Anita, it sounds like you are making the right decisions about the right trade-offs. Yes, you are taking a hit in terms of future (or, as some might say, "potential") income, but for all the right reasons.

Unlike those poor, deluded people who give up their future/"potential" incomes for ... nothing. As hard as it is to believe, some fools do just that.
