How do you roast peanuts in the shell? What kind of salt do you use and how do you apply it? Don't laugh if this sounds like a city-slicker type of question!

christina, I just put them in a shallow baking pan and bake at about 350 degreees til they tastes roasted. Keeping tasting them every so often til you have the degree of doneness you like. Some like them light and others dark. I don't salt them. I think someone else may post a better way, but this is the only way I know.

I was told years ago that to salt the peanuts, they were first soaked in a salt solution than put in the oven to roast. I roast without salt.

Tastes fine to us without the salt.
