Does anyone know why Reverend John hasn't supplied the AME Today readers with any current events or news lately? I'm sure something newsworthy has transpired in the last few months.

Rev. Stocker Rev. Fisher is a full time journalist and pastor's a church. A.M.E today is a gift from Rev. Fisher and his wife to us. A.M.E today is a volunteer effort and he and his wife pay for. Let's thank him for this forum and lift him and his family in prayer.

As their gift to us, and truly it is a gift, we should lift them up and not make it apoint of pulling them...or others down. it has been my experience that no one hurts us more than what we hurt ourselves as a people. Rev and Mrs Fisher may God continue to bless you for the fine work that you are doing and have done in improving the communication systems of our Zion. You should not rule out a higher form of service in the Church as you have truly demonstrated to the Connection your worth and value. God bless.

Revs. Rogers and Santucci, I don't believe Rev. Stocker was being negative in asking the whereabouts of Rev. John. I, too, would like to know if all is well, and I took her inquiry as such. We all realize that this site is not the meat on Rev. John's plate, but the gravy. And in whatever his duties that do not permit him to devote time to this site, we pray that he is continually strengthened and renewed. And we'll just hear from him when he has time! :)

W.J I did not take Rev. Stocker's question as being negative at all! I took it as being she missed hearing from Rev. Fisher as we all do. I did not know if she knew about the other responsibilities of Rev. Fisher. I hope my response did not come off as a negative response. Rev. Stocker and I stay in touch with each other privately. Rev. Rogers you are so full of it; not only do I see a pattern of neurotic behavior but I see you as being deceitful, treacherous, conniving, and dangerous. You always raise issues or post responses that you think will benefit you the most. Are you attempting to win some popularity contest? You could better utilize your time with your job and family (you do have these in place, right)? But on second thought, I don't see how any man or anyone could tolerate you for long. I am a member of the Baptist Church and thank God that we have very few female Pastors in the Baptist Church. You need to get real and get some serious counseling.

God is good

First I would like to thank all of you who expressed concern for my well being.

As most of you have noticed, A.M.E. Today has been on a slight hiatus, made even more notable by the fact it was an A.M.E. information source that prided itself on being timely with information. It has not been timely recently but with reason.

Most of you know that earlier this year, I had sickness in the family as my wife was stricken unexpectedly. God helped us to weather that storm. But it ran right into Annual Conference which ran right into the high school graduation of my only child which ran into her preparation for college. And behind the scenes during all of this was the healing and recovery of my wife and co-founder in A.M.E. Today.

Jan almost has had a complete healing from her attack. My daughter is working on her education process and the lack of updating on the site now is due to my circumstances.

It is known by some but not by all, that recently my job changed at the newspaper where I work. Rev. Rogers accurately detailed the fact that I am a full time journalist as well as being a pastor and publisher of A.M.E. Today.

I now have become the first ever, and currently only, african american executive for the newspaper chain for which I work Calkins Newspapers Inc. The company is over 75 years old and I was the first to break into this tier of upper level management.

Needless to say it is taking some time adjusting to this new position and making sure that I do not allow the banner to fall which I currently am carrying. There is a lot of hard work and new responsibility entailed in the job.

My new title is Director of Interactive Media, which translates to I am in charge of all web operations for the newspaper which is one of the top three in the Philadelphia area and top half dozen in Pennsylvania with circulation in the 70,000s.

The disruption in my time schedule, and its affect on A.M.E. Today, I pray only will be temporary as I find how I and the new job fit together. I solicit your prayers for strength, endurance and wisdom as I embark upon this journey.

I will strive to at worse, stay in touch until things are on an even keel and I again thank you for all your kind thoughts and expressions of concern. I am well, as is my family, but as well as being elated as to where God has allowed me to rise, and am also slightly daunted and overwhelmed by the task ahead. Please keep me in prayer!

To God Be the Glory for the visionary gift of Rev. and Mrs. John Fisher. This is the only live site in African Methodism where Brothers and Sisters from around the world can keep up and communicate their views. News, which before took weeks and months now takes hours and days thanks to the Fishers.

Rev. John I am praying for your success in your new position at work as well as the health of your wife and child (young adult).

When I consider that the connectional church now tunes in to AME- Today for the latest news we send the message that there is an audience looking for the news around our denomination around the world. My prayer is that we exercise greater patience and tolerance of our own who post on this site. Let us save that energy for the work of God which I believe gets lost in the personal attacking that is to frequent in this discussion room.

I am only a layman from Bermuda but I am sure Gods work could be moved forward more efficently if we did work as the one body we should.

Rev. John and Rev. Stocker I tune in everyday for the news from this site and I am prepared to wait till the messanger has time to update the news messages we seek.

I am no more shocked by some responses posted on this forum. What was originally an innocent question has been negated without any reason. I am a regular contributor to this Board, and although aware of Rev. Fishers busy schedule and his wife's recovery, yet I was also wondering why updates have become non-regular. We do not gain anything by hurting others. Thank you to the Fisher family for this wonderful tool.
