Christine what is wrong with your buck that you are wanting to give it tetracycline? LA200 is just 200 mgs of tetracycline, it is cheaper and eaiser on the goat to use Bio-mycin or Oxy-tet 200. LA200 has a sting carrier in it that is very uncomfortable for the goat. Tetracycline is good for upper respiratory problems, foot rot, etc. The very best way to get ideas on what drugs to use on your goats, what dosages, and even photos of what the drug bottles look like is on saanendoah.comAnyone who would give 30cc of any antibiotic to a goat is a fool. Its probably better his goat died and didn't have to put up with him/her anymore. Any drug given inaccurately like that would cause a total colapse of the respiratory system, shock and death would occur. Vicki

The dose should be on the bottle, but it is something like 5cc per l00 lbs(Although I never gave more than 5cc). You can give the shot once every three days. Depending on what you are treating, 2 or 3 shots usually does it.

The dosage on my bottle is 5cc per 100lbs also. 30cc is dosage for a 600lb goat. I don't use it unless I absolutely have to, as it makes them limp from the injection, and it does hurt after the shot. But it is still good stuff if used properly. A dose is supposed to last 3 days, my vet says to dose no more than every other day.

I have had to give up to 9cc on a very bad case once. I normally give 4cc. LA200 hurts the animal, creates knots. I use it but only if Pen is not working. I have been using Naxcill, because it doesn't have a withdrawal date. If its a lamb I may need to slaughter and you can't have LA200 or Pen in them. 30cc would kill them.
