Attitude toward certain churches within the RMgreenspun.com : LUSENET : The Christian Church : One Thread |
Hi. I was wondering about the different attitudes that some have toward churches like Southeast Christian in Louisville or Southland Christian in Lexington. In reading past posts, I get the indication that some are excited about what is happening in these growing churches and some see problems with these churches. I do not condone or condemn these churches, but simply am asking where these works stand in relation to our Movement in the 21st century. Do they complement the intent of A. Campbell and B. Stone (and others) or are they out of bounds from that original intent? I am just looking for information and insight and have no theological ax to grind and no hiden aggenda. Thanks in advance. God bless.

Josh.....I am not going to allow this forum to be the place to "bash" sister congregations.....especially when those folks are not here to talk about what it is they do.
So.....if someone would like to talk to Josh....via e-mail....feel free to do so.
Thanks!

Josh and Danny -- how about this: direct this thread towards a discussion of mega-congregations in general, then specific examples of programs, buildings, etc. could be used as an example. As two of our largest congregations, Southeast and Southland usually come to mind.Congregation bashing is not needed. Yet we all know that sharing a legitimate concern can be done without bashing groups or individuals.
