In Nov. 1827 Edgar Perry(Poe) was stationed at Fort Moultrie, Sullivan's Island with his army battery for some months before moving to Fort Monroe in Virgina. Around then he made his first little anthology of about fifty copies. (Source: www.eapoe.org)
