Hi, I have been trying to track down a source for Edwards Ultra Black developer that doesn't charge outrageous prices. My next option is to mix my own version. Does anyone have the recipe for Ultra black or a similar developer? Thanks!!

I believe that's Edwal Ultra Black. A quick search of the web shows that Falcon ( http://www.falconsafety.com/prices/edwal.html) sells enough to make 5 gallons for $14.99. That's about 75 cents per liter of working solution. Dektol at 1:1 costs about 58 cents per liter, and at 1:2 goes down to 40 cents per liter. I don't know how long-lasting Ultra Black is, but if you could get two sessions out of it the cost would be halved.
