We are wanting to rent a farm, possibly buy in future. Our area is booming, and of course therefore, way too expensive. Is anyone in here from Roanoke, Va area? We are looking that direction.

I live about 1 1/2 hours from Roanoke. Been there twice this week, just got home again this evening. I work in Clifton Forge, about 45 minutes from Roanoke. Roanoke is growing rapidly. The orchards at Fincastle, 20 minutes away, are being built up into private communities. Yes, Roanoke has alot of job oportunity,but if you want affordable land you will have to look at least outside of a fifty mile radius. The city has grown so much that $250,000 homes on small lots 30 miles away are the norm. If you would like some of Roanokes local newspapers and traders let me know and I will send you some. I am not trying to discourage you. Roanoke has alot to offer.

Thanks, Terri, my parents live in Floyd county, and we were looking to settle close to them perhaps. Actually, we are looking for a farm to rent. It doesnt have to be in Floyd County, just close if possible.
