In another thread someone said, "The anointing of Christ removes burdens and destroys yokes, and earth has absolutely no sorrow that heaven cannot heal."

I agree that the anointing makes possible the removal of burdens and destruction of yokes, but we can be Christians and be under "the Anointing of Christ" and still become victims of burdens and yokes. Inother words, we have to be reminded of whose we are. Besides, David killed the giant Goliath, but the Giants Keep on Coming."

From your perspective, how do we go about getting this annointing, Reverend Paris? How will we know when we have gained the annointing of Christ and will there be any outward signs? What else can we do with the annointing. Also, is this something that we as AME's teach regularly in our bands?

Getting the Anointing?

-- Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, (Born Again, a new creature). You then hae the anointing of Christ.

Are There Any Signs? --- Yes, as you begin your faith walk, you will begin to live a life in Christ. That is you will begin to think (you have the MIND of Christ), as Christ thinks, you will begin to follow His commandments (If you love Him you will obey Him.), and others will be able to see your changed life. They will be able to see Christ IN you.

Can you DO anythings? --- I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens. In Christ you can overcome ALL things.

Will that Stop the Things from coming? ---NO. but you will be able to overcome everything that comes into your life. You will have doubts and fears, mountians to climb, these will serve to make you strong.

I'd like to add one thing that Rev. Paris neglected to mention. This renewing of the mind and the receiving of the anointing cannot be realized unless we ingest the word of God, daily and continuously. Only by getting the word and keeping the word will we be able to discern the anointing and recognize the changes that occur. The only way to prove that your mind is renewed is if your actions change. If your mind is not renewed through reading and studying and ingesting the word of God, then your actions will not change, and you won't be able to recognize the anointing.
