WE would like any information on the area of northern Indiana excluding all major cities. We are interested In relocating.need info on jobs,rental property,churches.all inforformation greatly appreciated.immediate responses greatly appreciated .

I'm in Fort Wayne, IN, which is a major city in Allen County southeast of Lagrange. What skills, training, certifications, experience, etc., do you have for employment? What do you do for a living currently? What kind of rental property are you seeking? Fort Wayne is known as "The City of Churches" and that seems to extend to the surrounding communities, so you should be covered there. What other information in particular do you need? I live near LaGrange. There are plenty of websites dealing with Lagrange County. The South Bend and Goshen area are not far from Lagrange and offer plenty of services of all kinds. A lot of Lagrange is rural, but a lot of growth (urban blight) also. Shipshewana is a popular tourist area. What specific info are you looking for?

I lived in northern Indiana for a few years. I would not recommend it. It is nice being near the Amish but the landscape is not pretty at all. It is very flat and you will have the Indiana Toll Road running through your back yard. Urban sprawl. There is nothing that could properly be called "isolated" anywhere between Chicago and Ohio. There is a lot of tourism connected with the Amish which pretty much cancels out the advantages of being near them. Also, the people are not very friendly. If you must live in that region look into southern Michigan about 20 miles to the north, the landscape is more pleasing and it is not as populated.

Transplanted West Michiganders now living in LaGrange. Nice area, quiet, friendly people, good growing season. Rental property is VERY expensive, better to buy if at all possible. Churches come in every size and flavor. Jobs are few and far between unless you know your way around a trailer building factory or don't mind flipping burgers for a living.

Would love to move *home* again, but nothing left there except city now.
