what can i say

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Mainstage : One Thread

My 3 grandaughters have just completed a third year in the Summerstage program. Each year they've enjoyed the entire experience, had a lot of fun, and learned new skills. But,what the children don't see are the 'other' lessons, the kind so very difficult to teach. But I see them ! They come away having more self assurance, more tolerance, having learned how to work with others and knowing that others have more skills in certain areas then they have, and knowing that's alright. They find that the small contributions are as important to the whole as the big things. Acceptance of disabilities is built into the program and pride in having done a job to the best of their ability gives a sense of satisfaction that gives the kids a whole new demeanor. All these things will help make all our children 'whole' adults and I have no words to form an adequate Thank You for the work it took to make this magnificent program happen. The community owes you a resounding Standing O !

Ms. Davis~ Thanx for ur kind words. (and ?Christie? too... YEA B~n~B cast!!) I just want u to know, that is if u eva look at this again, that we do know (alot of us ne way) that we are learning these valuable lessons of life! Thats what makes summer stage so great! If we didnt see the difference of acceptance at summer stage compared to regular old life, then we wuldnt bother to wake up sooooo early every day of our summer! (saturday is my first official day of summer. YAY! Started ss first monday after i got out of skool.)I'm happy to see that our audience is noticing the wonderful program we have here!
