After much dilemna, I used the Elastracator on my 2.4 month male goat. I was going to use the knife (for the first time), but it is fly season, and I was also afraid of infection. But the last time I used the Elastracator, the poor boys were miserable all afternoon. So this time, I had some Tylenol with Codeine, prescribed for myself, for pain. I knew the creatures could take Tylenol, and I knew that Codeine was plant based, (opium poppy). So I shaved off about a third of a tablet into some milk, and gave it to him, and repeated the dose about six hours later. He is fine! Not like the others at all! I guess this is against the law, but if it can keep one more goat from suffering, it is OK by me.

Thanks for sharing this. I self medicate my dog who has a tendency to get a cough. He does fine with a child's portion of cough medicine for people.
