Floating Consignment Shop: Here's how some ladies here organize this:Two or three times a year there is a big, well-organized conignment sale. As a participant, I must label (with my name and price) all my clothes (as well as wash and iron and hang). I am allowed to see/buy clothes on the first day. Second/third days are for people who are ONLY buying. On third day, I have the option (through a code on my label)at half price--I don't have to be there at all!
I believe that they also carry jewelry, shoes (especially soccer/baseball) and baby things too.
The sales are advertised through flyers that go out to all the local schools and churches, in the paper, on the radio. The sale is held at a public place (church? Knights of Columbus?) They may have to rent, I don't know. But they take a small percentage off each sale, AND fully clothe their large families throughout the year with nice clothes they can afford. At the end of the sale--you must pick up your own things( if you don't, it's donated to goodwill and you can't participate next time). So it's only about six or nine days of work each year for a great way to clothe your family and make a little money.
What do you think of this one?

Sounds like a good idea to me. I like buying low-priced second-hand stuff.

I think its a great project. In some of the larger cities, there are charities which operate large storefront thrift shops of donated items.cheers,
