Does anybody know anything new about the progress of the church's new Reinsurance Company?

Dear Rev. Stocker I am pleased to provide you an update on the progress of the AME Church's Reinsurance Company. The Company is legally named AME Reinsurance Limited.It was incorporated in February as reported on this Web-site. We have completed a major portion of the research of our Connectional Property portfolio.We have had submittals from the major Districts (#1-13)and have just surpassed the required entrance premium amount to go into the market.Our lawyers are now before the Insurance Commission with our portfolio and business plan.We are anticipating the granting of this license by the end of August. With this license and the submittals in from the Districts (already reported in) we are planning to start negotiations with the required carriers for our new program.

We have already planned the ground work for our negotiations and have selected a list of companies to negotiate with. It is our hope and plan that this period will take only a month or two before we will be then in a position to start accepting premium.Our start should be by the end of the year.

I am hoping that this information is of assistance to you.If there is any additional information you require please feel free to contact me at my email address afs@northrock.bm and I will answer as many of the questions that I can. Please understand that one or two questions may require the approval of the Chairman (Bishop Philip R Cousin Sr.) before some information is released but I don't see any problems with any potential questions that could and should be raised.

The company will be providing information to the Connectional Church very soon as other decisions are now being made. Please also stay tuned to ame-today as Rev. Fisher has promised to keep the Web site up to date.
