Burris' that descended from Solomon Burrisgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Genealogy Queries for Stanly County, North Carolina : One Thread |
I need any information anyone has as to any relationship they may have to any part of this family. I have been researching for approximately 13 years and I still need information on marriages the Burris' may have had and their children. My grandfather married Rosa Burgess and I have a lot of trouble trying to find out about the Burgess' and their connections with this family. Can anyone provide me with information regarding the connections of this family?

Roveta, I don't have an answer to your other line, but thought I'd let you know that my mother, Kathryn Ann (Johnson) Hooper's mother was Annie Mae (Burris) Johnson, Annie's father was Rufus Burris married Nancy Furr from Concord, NC, Rufus's father was Adam C. Burris.Rufus and Nancy had Donnie (Female),Paul,Dolly (died at an early age), Jeneva ( died early also), Annie and Nannie ( they were twins). Annie, my grandmother, was born October 15, 1902 and she died September 7, 1945 in Landis, Rowan county, North Carolina, from T.B. My mother was 14 at the time. I do know Rufus Burris was married once before his marriage to Nancy to Rebecca Perry and they had a son, Joseph. In the 1910 Stanly census, Joseph was living with his grandparents, Adam C. and Roena Burris. Mom told me that she remembers her mother talking about Joseph and saying he left home at an early age and no one knew where he went. Hope this helps and if you have any information please let me know. Debbie
