The subject line sez it all. For those who want walking onions please send me your snail mail address if you haven't already done so. I'm gonna be harvesting the flower tops this weekend and shipping them on Monday.

BTW, forget about the shipping charges. I was initially concerned that there'd be a big demand and that the actual charges would be more than they'll actually be, so merry Xmas ya'll.

I'm thinking if ya put the clump of bulblets into the ground as rec'd you should be able to get them off to a running start by winter and next yr should be able to get a decent sized bed started. Good luck!

john...................HELP............we don't know how to plant them. Rescue us.....put the whole clump underground....point side up or down............I just don't know what to do.

If I had to guess I'd say you could plant the whole clump partly in the ground, with the pointy ends of the bulblets sticking up. That's probably how they would "plant" themselves if left to nature.

But that *is* a guess...

Hey ya'll. Jim pretty much said it for me. Thats the way I'd do it, leaving the snipped greens sticking out of the ground. I'd plant the entire clump, as is, without seperating it then harvest the new bulblets after they'd matured, and plant where desired. When nature does it the clumps are just laid on the ground and they take root from there so when planting, plant them shallow. Good luck!

Gosh, I wish that my computer hadn't been down for three weeks, I'd love some walking onions. I was getting ready to order some seeds for them. If it's not too late john, I can offer you all sorts of seeds for all manor of herbs, veggies, bulbs, fruit tree cuttings for grafts, and etc. anything for a trade.
