By the power of Jesus Christ, let's do some kingdom building on this discussion board

greenspun.com : LUSENET : A.M.E. Today Discussion : One Thread

To Rev. Fisher and my sisters and brothers in Christ! Rejoice for Christ is always with us. There is no pain, heartache or disagreement that he cannot heal. Every contributor on this board is a child of God! And he uses us in various ways to build this church worldwide. We must have our eyes on building and healing the AME church. If this discussion board stops then valuable information and friendships will be lost. It would have been easy for Richard Allen to walk away from Methodism in the face of such brutal racism. Instead he turned negative events into a powerful denomination. I love everyone on this board, for we have the same father. To my christian sister Ms. Poteet I love you! And I look forward to meeting you in person, for you have a strength and a tenacity that is needed for kingdom building. Brother Hunnicut, Brother Rucker, Dr. Jones and to everyone who is passionate about the role of the AME church, let's keep doing work for Christ! And only Christ! During the formation of the early church there was division, And Paul the Apostle addresses these divisions, whether they revolved around circumsicion, who could be a christian etc. Paul reminded them and us, we are all one in Christ. Much has been accomplished with this board. I joined the AME church because of posts on this discussion board, Partnerships and monies are being sent to churches oversees directly because of this board. Valuable friendships have been made. We have read of miracles on this Board. We have cried over deaths of AME clergy and family members on this board. We have prayed for one another's healing on this board. We have learned of each other's districts on this board. We are a family on this board and yes we will disagree and fight. But we can come together as the body of Christ. I have prayed and prayed regarding this board. And I know this board is born of God! And because of that no human force can bring it down until God tells us! Every district in our denomination is represented on this board. And we have got to keep up the work of Christ! We are not niave those who post and read this board. There are injustices within our denomination and the entire body of Christ that have to be addressed!! For we must also remember Christianity is about love and JUSTICE! Yes let's keep lifting up injustice within our denomination but also let us come together and seek ways with Christ to correct these injustices. Do not dispair, but remember it is always darkest before the dawn. God is doing great things through us with this board. Keep posting, and keep loving and keep calling the name of Christ as our saviour and leader. Strength, joy, love and empowerment through Jesus Christ!

AMen! Andso be it. Also, do not forget the hundreds perhaps who read but never post. Perhaps a shorter and to the point post would be helpful.

Blessings

Praise the Lord. All of us are guilty of sins of omission and commission. This is a God-given tool, not a luxury but a necessity for the Connectional church such as the AME Church. Yes, we are compassionate about AME Church, and many a times we hurt each other without the intend. For some of us English is a third language and our choice of words amy not be appropriate. For others we sometimes do not listen to the spirit of the speaker, but our prejudices, etc influence the way we receive and interpret information. Thank you God, thank you Rev. Fisher and the entire AME online family who share in this medium. As long as I am the 15th Episcopal District's information officer in my capacity as the Editor of THE CALL, I will continue to summit reports of events on this side of the Ocean. Views expressed on the Discussion Board of the AME Today are however personal and private, and do not represent the 15th Episcopal District nor Namibia. May the Lord's name be magnified and glorified.

I just started to go online and I love this discussion group. Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion. But please no name calling. We do not always have to agree on anything but let us look to the Lord for guidance and wisdom. Gob Bless you, Rev. Fisher.
