Well, according to Revelation 20:7-10, the devil, the beast, and the false prophet:

NASB

When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison, 20:8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore. 20:9 And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them. 20:10 And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

So much for the 'destruction' theory ~ where there is an end to punishment. This says differently.

And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and ***they will be tormented day and night forever and ever***.

That is possibly true, and I am sure you will enlighten me.

By the way, what was the object of your question?

In other words, were you asking us something, or telling us something?

From Vine's:

AIONIOS:

see ETERNAL.

1. Describes duration, either undefined but not endless, as in Romans 16:25; II Timothy 1:9; Titus 1:2; OR

2. UNDEFINED BECAUSE [it is]***ENDLESS*** AS IN ROMANS 16:16 AND THE OTHER SIXTY-ONE PLACES IN THE NEW TESTAMENT.

The predominant meaning of AIONIOS, that in which it is used everywhere in the NT save the places noted above, may be seen in II Corinthians 4:18, where it is set in contrast with PROSKAIROS, lit., 'FOR A SEASON', and in Philemon 15, where only in the NT it is used without a noun. Moreoever it is used of persons and things which are in their nature ENDLESS, as, e.g., of God, Romans 16:26; of His power, I Timothy 6:16; and of His Glory, I Peter 5:10; of the Holy Spirit, Hebrews 9:14; of the redemption effected by Christ, Hebrews 9:12; and the subsequent salvation of men, 5:9; as well as His future rule, II Peter 1:11, which is elsewhere declared to be 'immortal'.

- - -

AIONIOS is also used of the 'sin that hath never forgiveness', - - - - - - and of the fire, which is one of its instruments, - - - - , and which is elsewhere said to be 'unquenchable' [NEVER TO BE PUT OUT], MARK 9;43.

The use of AIONIOS in II Thessalonians 1:9 is not temporary, but final, and accordingly shows that its purpose [IN THAT INSTANCE] is not remedial but retributive.

AIONIOS: Used chiefly where something future is spoken of.

the 1st xians believed in universal-salvation

This is perhaps the most nonsensical thing I have ever seen posted on this forum. Which perhaps explains why most everyone so far has glossed over it. It's almost too idiotic to bother with.

If the first Christians believed in universal salvation, what was the whole point of the book of Acts, where Peter, Paul and others constantly declared "repent or perish"? What is the point of Jesus' commandment to go into all the world and make disciples, if everyone is going to be saved no matter what drivel they believe? The entirety of the New Testament makes absolutely no sense whatsoever if "the 1st xians believed in universal-salvation".
