It appears that just as we are about to conclude our primary summer meeetings with the last one being held in Jacksonville, FL (Connectional Lay Meeting in July) that we begin to prepare for our 2002 Summer Meetings which are: (1) The Bishops' Council/General Board, June 2002, Tallahassee, FL; (2) The Quadrennial Christian Education Convention, July 2002, Charlotte, NC; and (3) The Connectional YPD Overseas Service Project, July 2002, in the Dominican Republic (16th Episcopal District). In addition to this, the WMS Connectional Executive Board Meeting will be held the last week of January, 2002 in Jackson, MS (near my roots; my grand-parents home).

These meetings afford us the opportunity to interact, plan and learn from each other as we seek to strengthen the AME Church. Hope to see you at one, if not all of them.

Since you seem to have an excellent knowledge of the happening across the connection, maybe you can help... I have been trying now for quite a while to find out where the WMS/YPD Quadrennial Meeting in 2003 will be held? Does anyone know where this will be?

Ms. Ppowers;

to address your question about the WMS? YPD Quadrennial in 2003. It was slated for the Eighth District and to come to New Orleans, but they are hosting the Lay Biennial in that year. So the Quadrennial will be some where in the Fifth District. There is a slight chance it will be in the Twelfth District with Bishop Chappelle.
