I don't really know how I got my name, but I had an older brother named Phillip and they wanted something similar. I have a sister that is younger than me and her name is Sheila. They almost named her Pheobe, but my mother had an aunt named Pheobe and they couldn't think of another P name. Lucky Her! She has always said, she would have hated that name. Lets here some others.

In 1958 I was adopted at 12 hours old. My folks had previously arranged this but had failed to agree on any names for either sex. Naturally people began asking what thay were going to name me. After a few weeks of this Mom got really sick of the question and began telling people that they named me "Sputnik". Of course people were horrified until they realized she was kidding. Finally after about 8- 10 weeks the judge that handled my adoption called the folks and told them he had to get the paperwork sent in so they had to name me soon! As you can tell they settled on Debra although Mom really wanted to name me Christy.
