Need info on wood cook stovegreenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
DH just made a "deal" the other day, and I am now in possession of a Portland Stove Foundry Co. "Empress Atlantic" from Portland, Maine. The patent date is Oct. 24, 1922. It's in pretty good shape, and I know it was used daily until three years ago. It's been well taken care of even then, kept inside. There is, however, a crack in the front of the firebox. I know PSF is no longer in business, but is there anybody out there that can give me information on this stove? I'm not having any luck finding a site on the web, and would really like some more information on this. Thanks.

Julie, Try contacting Bryant Stove Works in Thorndike (Me.). We have a Queen Atlantic (circa 1920) and when we needed parts to repair it, they knew exactly what we were talking about! Good luck!!
