Could someone explain to me what the purpose of transfer cabooses were,and what diference was it from a standard caboose?

Answers

Transfer cabs served as the office for the conductor and the rear brakeman, same as other cabs. However they were only used for transfer runs between yards and on locals whereas a standard cab would be used on any train.
