Harry Potter is good, C.S. Lewis's Lion, Witch and Wardrobe rocks (along with the series as a whole)... but what is truly the best children's book of all times? My personal vote goes to Roald Dahl's Matilda... thoughts, debates?

The Neverending Story by Michael Ende--it's superior to all the movies. It really delves into Bastian and his image of himself, and how he wants to run away from all of his troubles in the world when what he's really trying to escape from is his self-image... (Sorry, I wrote my senior seminar paper on it.)

Best classic childrens book of all time has to be Alice in Wonderland. Best contemporary childrens book I would say is The Lorax by Dr. Seuss Best one in the past 5 years has to be Harry Potter. My favorite being The Prisoner of Azkaban.
