As a new member of the AME church, I would like to know if the bishops ever make any proclaimations. For example, are there days, weeks, or months that all members of the AME church are asked to fast or pray about specific issues? Do the bishops ever decree for example that certain seminars be conducted (i.e. A seminar on the Holy Spirit)?

In our District 15th Part of our 7 Point Partnership Plan ,Bishop Ingram called for a fast Monday after Supper until Tuesday late Afternoon.
