Where are you located? Many breeders sell hatching eggs. There are several sites on the web also that specialize in hatching eggs. If possible I would suggest trying to find something close, perhaps even that you could pick up. Shipped hatching eggs can often have damaged air cells or get "scrambled" and the hatch rate is often low, although you sometime can get some very good eggs that route.

You may try Emailing some of the sellers on "Eggbay.com" or "wwwpunktat.com/cgi-bin/cyberpoultry/cyberpoultry.cgi" (not eggsactly sure of address spelling) and let them kknnow the eggs are for 4H. I have had some that gave real low prices when they knew the eggs were for the "kids".

Rick, I have silkie eggs, both buff and black. I have never tried shipping through the mail but if you pay postage I will be happy to send some to you. Right now I have 2 hens setting and also eggs in my incubator which should hatch this weekend, I could send you some chicks also. Email me if you are interested.
