To All My Cyber-Moms:Typically churches pay homage to mothers by citing the Mosaic passage from the Decalouge, "Honor Thy Father & Mother" and the attendant promise about personal longevity. However, I did a little research on Mother's Day and discovered that the person generally regarded as the moving influence [Anna Jarvis] for this American observance was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Ironically her works began while fellowshipping in a Methodist Church in Philadelphia [for AMEs this has a familiar ring, eh?]. Her efforts to make national recognition for all mothers in 1907 was culminated by President Wilson's procalmation on May 13, 1914. Ms Jarvis was yet another Methodist who "done" good. The soulful group of the early 70s, The Intruders, sang it best, "I'll Always Love My Momma". Happy, Happy, Happy Mother's Day for all mothers are truly special. QED

I like to call it Moms Day, or Mommas Day. Same with Dads or Daddys Day. To be a mother or father one only need produce a child. But it takes so much more to be a mom or dad. Abba! I thank God SO much for my wonderful mom and dad. Same goes with grandparents. I don't want to be just a grandfather, but a grandpa/pee paw/paw paw/pa paw/gramp, or whatever you call that grand old guy the kids run to in your family.Love you Moms!
