Who are your favorite mothers in the Bible?

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers on the discussion board! Mother's day was always a sad day for me as a child because my Mother died when I was 7 years old. But as I became older and Jesus came into my life. I learned about heaven and knew I would see her again! I also learned about other Mothers in the Bible and God put wonderful spiritual mothers in my life. One of my spiritual mothers is Elder Carolyn Guidry and Mary the mother of Jesus gives me strength. Who are your favorite mothers in the Bible and or your earthly spiritual mothers?

My favorite mother in the Bible represents the "underdogs" of life. First prize goes to Hannah. She was not only God-fearing [I dissent from the chic spelling G-d], an honorable wife but a dutiful servant as well. She not only had to endure ridicule by her female colleagues [she was barren] and the priest Eli who mistankenly thought she was enebriated on the altar but swallowed her motherly pride and returned her son Samuel back to the priests for the work of a Nazarite. This took quite a lot. QED

Naomi and Ruth. Two strong loving women loving God, blessed of God for living before Him doing thier best for each other. I will be preaching from the Book of Ruth tomorrow.

Pastor Paris I too am preaching about Naomi and Ruth on Sunday. The transforming power of love has so many lessons for us as Christians.

Hannah, and the Syrophoenician mother who came to Jesus asking for healing for her daughter. I loved the answer she came to Jesus. "Even the dogs eat the crumbs from off the Master's table." Her love for her daughter and faith in what Jesus could do has alays bless my heart.

Mt favorite mother is Hannah. She held on to God when the odds were not in her favor. She can serve as a beacon of hope for all women who are dealing with the issue of infertility.
