Going to be gone a few daysgreenspun.com : LUSENET : Beyond the Sidewalks : One Thread |
Since I am the Number 1 blabbermouth here, I thought you might notice if I shut up entirely . . . (stop grinning!). I'm going to be gone Thursday night through sometime on Sunday, and I won't have access to a computer or time either. Julie is going to be going to the same place too, so don't expect to see her around either. You'll all just have to carry on without us!

And we DO expect you to carry on!!(we want photographic evidence of who wore the lampshade, who got drunk and carried on a conversation on tachion physics with a houseplant, and who passed out face first in the eggplant parmesan!)

Oh my goodness, they are both going to the same place???? Should we feel sorry for "the PLACE" or for us that will miss them???? Take care of each other girls and we will expect a full report Sunday.
-- Anonymous, May 09, 2001
Be good.I'll miss your company. Safe journey.

Dibs on the lampshade!!Have a safe trip ladies!
-- Anonymous, May 09, 2001
Hmm.....'the same place' huh........did you do that to be intentionally intriguing? Or are we all just snoopy?
-- Anonymous, May 09, 2001
While Joy is gone.....can anyone tell me why her email addy says "CatFlunky"?? Just curious, that's all!
-- Anonymous, May 09, 2001
I bet they're not going anywhere, they're just sitting at the computer waiting to see what we say about them.
-- Anonymous, May 09, 2001
Joy and Julie... how do you expect us to "carry on"? tee hee
-- Anonymous, May 09, 2001
Yarrow, you know perfectly well how to carry on without me -- no swinging the cats though! (sorry, a ya-had-to-be-there joke)Julie and I are going to Rockford (N. Illinois) for a family/business meeting. Happens every year at this time. Not very exciting (unless someone gets into a shouting match, but that hasn't happened for years), but essential.
Since you started talking about us before we left, you bet I'm reading it!
Marcia, I am the cats' flunky, that's what it means. Also known as "big feeder lady" and "Hey! You with the thumbs -- open it nooooowwwww!" (door, can of food, enticing package, whatever) How come you don't want to know about rumplefrogskin? Julie, YOU can (try to) explain that one!

Joy, when you feed a dog he wags and thinks "boy that's nice". When you feed a cat they think "These creatures worship me". Or as my wife says "Your nobody till your ignored by your cat". Have a safe trip.
-- Anonymous, May 10, 2001
Now that you bring it up, Joy, I'm curious 'bout that one also. Makes me realize the total lack of imagination I put into my address!!!

Oh, here kittie, kittie, kittie.... come here, Julie is gone!!!!BTW... Julie... isn't your cat's name Herman???
-- Anonymous, May 10, 2001
Julie's on the road already, because it takes her 4 1/2 hours longer to get there, but I'm still here, taking a break . . . .Yarrow, have you been twirling again and gotten dizzy? Julie doesn't have cats. She had the little white dog, remember? I have a cat named Harry, is that who you're thinking of?
Hey, John, cats rarely ignore me. I am a cat magnet -- if there's one around I find it or it finds me! Julie is the dog magnet . . . .

Well...now that they are finally gone..... What do you think about all this family/business thing? Tell you what I'm thinking-Mafia!Yep-I'm sure that must be it. Yeah,I know their names don't sound italian, but they probably changed them.Yeah I know Wisconsin isn't a hotbed of godfathers, but hey, maybe it is and we just don't know it!
Now that I think about it isn't there a place they send all those people who ratted on the top dogs, and had to be put in the witness protection program? I seem to recall it was in...yeah..Illinois. Let me think...yeah...Rockford! That's the place!
Well, now that I got that figured out and know they will all be together this weekend,I'll let Nick know.He can contact all his old "Family" buddies from back in the old 'hood. I expect they will pay good money for the info. I'll be able to buy more land.
Well,it was awfully nice having them around. Oh well.
Will Hoot be there too?

Ya know Sharon, Al Capone and his cronies used to hide out up here in the woods of northern wisconsin.......
-- Anonymous, May 11, 2001
That's exactly what I was thinking, not Rockford, but really Chicago! Has to be some sort of Godfather thing, it's awful hush hush if you ask me.
-- Anonymous, May 11, 2001
Capone and his gang used to hide out at a place in northern Wisconsin called Little Bohemia. I've actually driven past it a couple of times on the way to my ex in-law's house. My ex-mother-in-law was 100% Italian and her family was involved with the Mafia back in the good old days. Her mother's cousin was actually killed by Capone's gang. While we're on the crime theme, my sister's first husband is a cousin to Terry Nichols of the Oklahoma City bombing fame.
Bet you didn't know I was such a dangerous character, did you!

Well, Sharon (if that's your real name), that was pretty stupid -- running off at the fingers about your "theory". You blew our cover and now we have gone into hiding, again, and it's all YOUR fault. This weekend we purchased 200# of cement -- I think that should be sufficient. Mom has some Florida swampland that no one ever goes to, but I think the gators are still tame and will remember Julie, oops, I mean, VINNIE, yeah, that's right, VINNIE . . . .
Pay no attention to the garbage trucks/collectors that will soon be rumbling down your road. They just got lost. Really. I'm sure you'll be happy to give them directions when they ask!
-- Anonymous, May 13, 2001
What? you think I'd actually use my real name? HAHAHAHAHA! My whole identity is made up.HAHAHAHAHA! I've been after you two from the get go. I'm an undercover hit man for the Cornbread Mafia. We've been looking for you for some time now. So,you just go ahead and send that cement truck,(actually,I need some concrete for my back room floor. Thanks for helping out.)I'll made it quick and painless for you, since you have been so helpful.Well,I am a southern gentleman, after all.
The granddaughters of Al Capone,eh? Well I'll be an Italian uncle. We didn't know about that connection.Well,I'll be sure to take my hat off at the funeral.
See you.Won't see me.
