Hi I have been using Ilford MGIV ( Pearl ) in DA 163 1:1. Now some time back I read about this "Potassium Bromide" which works as an antifoggant in when mixed in the developer. In the same article it was mentioned that it also gives some kind of olive green color to the emulsion, which changes to warm purple after selenium toning.

I would like to know if this kind of greenish tone can be achieved on the Ilford MGIV ( Pearl ) papers? And if the tone is retained after fixing?

What is DA 163?

Bromide does cause a warming/greening with many but not all developers on many but not all papers. You'll just have to try it and see. Chances are your developer already has some in there, unless its a phenidone developer, but you can add a little at a time until you get the desired effect or chemical fog occurs.

Or you cant try the Ilford warmtone which will be a pale green anyway with many developers. If you want some really full, rich greens try Bergger
