Rev. Rogers all of the connectional officers of YPD must be eligible for YPD membership and therefore under 30. One of my church members is the Connectional Worship Leader and gave us an excellent report in church Sunday.

Our congregation has a active YPD we even have Muslims active in the YPD. They meet during the day and presently they are having their Self Denial Week.Tey have various Life skills and creative programs with the focus on building leadership.Many leaders in our conference come from the YPD.They also have a special Community Project called the LETABA YOUTH PROJECT.This is part of the outreach programme.They go on outings/picnics,camps and play sport. It would be good to know more about the Executive Board meeting.and even if YPDers would be interested in Corresponding with the members here in South Africa. Beside the YPD we also have an Active Allen christian Fellowship who meet Friday Nights.

What does the YPDERS do in the Connection ?

I'm not sure what part of South Africa you are from, but one of the Connectional Y.P.D. standing Committee Chairpersons are in Cape Town SOuth Africa. Her name is Kim jacobs from the 15th Episcopla District. very active young lady who has a lot to offer the church. I think she is over International Relations. one of the things that the COnnectional Board does is "Misson Work". it is officially called Y.P.D. on the Field, adn next Summer(July 2002) we are tentaively going to the 16th district to the Dominican Republic to do work. A couple of years ago we went to jamaica on a mission job. SO we are busy at work. We wanted to come to SOuth Africa, but the Bishops are hesisitant because of the Safety concern right now. So I would link up with her and your Episcopla Y.P.D. President, director, and Supervisor to find out what else you need to know. Continue to Glow, Grow, and Go for Christ.
