Its all good! Your favorite camp one-liners

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Camp Lutherhaven : One Thread

I worked at Camp Lutherhaven the summer of 2000. It was a tremendous blessing from God to hang out in His creation reading the Word, playing sports, eating sno cones, cooking at the villages, climbing rocks at Shoshone, swimming and canoeing on a hot July day on the Lake, overnighters at Mica Bay, learning about Jesus, meeting neat people and growing together in Christ with all my bros and sisters in Him... the list goes on and on and on.... I wanna see Jesus lifted high. God is good! In all you do may you keep your eyes focused on Him who CALLS US TO BE SUPERHEROES OF THE FAITH. A plug for this summer's theme. If anyone ever has any questions about camp or just wants to talk about anything like Baseball or God or the house the counselors tore down or the puppet Pierre, e-mail me... it would totally rock to hear from yall especially 2000 Staff. So, what are your favorite camp one-liners... I have many like "How you doin" I love Jesus", but want to hear yours. God's blessings. GOD ROCKS!

Last year during Leadership Camp, Jessamyn T. came up with this great saying. We were playing poker and jokers are wild... But Jessamyn told us all, "JOKERS AREN'T WILD, THEY'RE BUCK WILD!"

Well, my cabin's name last year was the "Wet N' Wild Mangos!" We became really close, and we're still in touch! I was also truly blessed to have Sarah Walked as my counselor. So, we now always say, "You're so stinkin' amazing!" ;) Hey, it's tru! So to ya'll out there at camp, and to everyone who will be there or ever has been, "Ya'll are just so stinkin' amazing!" :)

PUSH!

Just had to say one more thing with my answer above - it was Sarah Walker, not Sarah Walked. Sorry! Darn typos...

Lutherhaven 2000 would not be same without the words; "HELLO, IT IS I PIERRE!!" Another good one from the past and brought back by Stone is, "How you doin'? I like Jesus!" And although it is not a saying, but a darn good song, "GOD BLESS WISCONSIN"!!!! Peace out brothers and sisters in Christ.

Yer the type-a-gie...(fill in with cheezy Wisconsin phrase).

Jordan,

I don't have any lines from camp because I haven't been there yet! Man I am going to miss seeing you everyday at CUW though! I will definitely be thinking of you as I am there and you are serving God all over the country! Just make sure this year, you keep your clothes dry so we don't end up with pink mattress pads! Oh yeah, how many more days of getting "the look" do I have? Take care Jordan- you rock my world because Jesus rocks in you!

Love ya <><

Casey--I think you just came up with the best one-liner I've ever heard :)

-- kristin (rainbowspice80@hotmail.com), May 06, 2001.

Who is Rainbowspice80? Are you a camp director, fascilitator of web page design. I am just curious beause you have half of the entries on all of the gaffitti pages. Oh yeah, I forgot, my other favorite one liner is "growing up is for kids." (summer 98, some guy)

-- Philip Edward Francis IV (phillipi75@hotmail.om), May 07, 2001.

Hey Jordan, The only ones I could remember were "Suck it up" (Usually said to Josh) and "Know your role!" (Usually said when I was working in the kitchen!) Im going to get many more this summer I am sure so I will post them as I get them Have a great summer bro peace out

My favorite one-liner was from two summers ago. It was simple. "Doug not a slug". Anyway, I pray that all who come to camp this summer will be changed by God in some way. It happened to me twice. Thank you for the memories and friendships.

-- Dan DJ (djlinse@students.wisc.edu), May 10, 2001.

Mr. Zemke. Let me make the change to your last posting so you don't have to. It was not said to me, it was said by me, to you. Along with... "Good thing your so cotton-pickin' tough" (Thanks Buck for the cotton-pickin' revamp) Oh yeah, another summer of one-liners, two-liners, and heck even 86-liners. Peace to y'all!

-- Josh (lonewolfe97@hotmail.com), May 13, 2001.

Dude, Josh, Know your role, I never claimed to have originated that one, just repeated it. If you want to claim ownership than do so!

-- Dave (dzemke@juno.com), May 14, 2001.

I didn't fully finish my reply before my computer tried to kill me. Anyway, I think we both said "know your role" to a lot of people. I hope they got the message. One must always know their role. My favorite one liner was done all in sign language and thats all I will say about that! peace out

OK, gotta new one from Leadership Campers. "That's a kick in the pants!" Contributed to the group by Steve Meyer. *(Thanks Steve!)*

ROCK ON! -Sarah <><

Hey! Mine isn't really a one-liner more of a one-worder. All the MANGOS! from Advetures 2000 that were in Sarah Walker's cabin should know this one.......MANGO! brought to us by Lindsay! And also as Theresa said "Your so stinkin amazing!" Thanks to Sarah for that one! All the "original" MANGOS! I hope you know I love ya! And I'll miss the one's not returning this year, Heather, Lindsay, and I will carry on the spirit!!!

-- Callie (A FELLOW MANGO!) (starbright1016@yahoo.com), July 06, 2001.

Hey, heres one thats been floating around the kitchen all summer. I said it after someone was looking for something anyway: "I have teeth" this can be said at any time but usually works better randomly. Dude, Jordan, when you check this, write me a mail man... it would be good to hear from you brother.
